I would like to acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the traditional custodians of the land where I have the privilege to study and live. I acknowledge and respect the Elders of past, present and future, as well as their stories, the values of their land and culture that I endeavour to honour and gain more knowledge of. I also acknowledge the importance of the voices and experiences I will be advocating for in this project I am so grateful to be apart of.
A space for creating awareness and demanding a change of our current education systems that are negligent of teaching a truer Aboriginal history in Australian schools. Truer Histories is an insight into the voices of Maya Newell's film, In My Blood It Runs. We share the voices of twelve-year-old Arrernte boy, Dujuan and his Grandmother, Carol and their experiences with a failing educational system.
A platform to share and read others experience with teachings of Aboriginal history and culture in Westernised schooling systems.
